    FAQ Does anyone discern what the cup that screws/holds the blades called? I tried to clean my fan... opened the metal/aluminum dissemble, then that plastic cup that holds the blades tight got broken. Where can I get that part? What's the name of it?

    A: stopped oscillating is undoubtedly the gears worn out or broken. If you get lucky you might be able to take it apart and repair or restore the cogs.
    The one running backwards is a bigger issue and best solved by turning it around.
