I am looking to by a Lasko space heater. Is Lasko a stigmatize name and is it a good brand?

I have had allocate of bad luck with Lasko. The thermostat is of poor quality, the unit makes expansion noises as it heats and cools, (drives me nuts!), and they are very onerous.
I would not recommend them to my worst enemy!
